Norms of behavior
We are committed to providing a welcoming, harassment-free, inclusive, educational and enjoyable conference for all. Our code of conduct sets out the behavior we expect from everyone who participates in our events.
Our event aims to provide a welcoming, harassment-free, inclusive, educational, and enjoyable conference for everyone (regardless of characteristics such as gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, body size, race, religion, or professional experience).
Anyone who violates these rules may be penalized, sanctioned, expelled from the conference (without refund) and/or banned from future events at the discretion of the conference organizers.
What we expect
We expect all participants in the event, including attendees, speakers, staff, exhibitors and sponsors, to help create the favorable atmosphere we expect.
Our events are professional (despite what the occasional silly conference moment may suggest!) and we expect people to act accordingly.
Participants who are asked to stop any harassment or inappropriate behavior are expected to do so immediately.
While alcohol is available for the remainder of the conference day and at some of our social events, we expect people to know their limits and not drink excessively. Being intoxicated is not an excuse for bad behavior.
What we do not tolerate
We do not tolerate inappropriate behavior or harassment of event attendees, sponsors, speakers, or staff in any form, including inappropriate online behavior such as responses to speeches or comments.
Exhibitors in the exhibition hall and all staff at the show are also subject to our code of conduct. Exhibitors must not use sexualized images, actions, or costumes that may in any way create a sexualized environment.
How to report something to us
If you are being harassed, experience inappropriate behavior, notice someone being harassed or someone behaving inappropriately, or have any other concerns, please let us know.
We will be happy to help contact the appropriate venue security or police, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment or inappropriate behavior to feel safe during the conference.
